I’m Luther Clement-Lam, a film and video editor and director. My work blends strong narrative structure with visually driven storytelling and a deep attention to sound, often exploring themes of identity, memory, and transformation. I’ve edited six feature films and a two-part documentary series, with work distributed by platforms like HBO and PBS. As a director, my films have screened at festivals including Sundance, been distributed by outlets like The New York Times, and recognized with honors such as the Jury Award for Directing at DOC NYC, a Cinema Eye Honor nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Short Nonfiction, and a spot on the Academy Award shortlist. I began my video career editing short documentaries and music videos for artists ranging from J. Cole to Inge and the TritoneKings—a 90-year-old Holocaust survivor fronting a death metal band. In 2020, I was named to the DOC NYC 40 Under 40 list. Whether I’m cutting a project or directing one, I bring a collaborative, detail-oriented approach and am always excited by creative challenges that push form and feeling.
